The Taupaki History Book Project

With 2015 being the 100th year celebration of the Taupaki Hall, the Residents and Ratepayers are now starting to compile a commemorative history book for Taupaki.

We already have access to lots of great material, but would love to gather more.

This will be a refresh and update to reflect the latest developments in the Taupaki area. We are looking at including stories from local families that have been here a long time as well as families that have moved in recently.

Mrs. Diana Annandale was very involved in putting the '1899-1999 Taupaki School and District History' book together. The Association has been given generous permission to use this as the basis for the new book.

There are lots of stories of this great place that are worth putting in an updated version of the book.

Taupaki was established very soon after people moved into New Zealand so we can go back to the early beginnings of the first emigrants right up to today. There is still a lot of information available on the early settlement and references to that and we would like this all to be included into this volume.

whilst we are gathering the information before editing and taking this to print, we are looking at interest and pre-sales to gauge what printing volumes we need to allow for.

We are also looking for sponsors that want to contribute to the printing of the book. Sponsors names will be acknowledged in the back of the book.
